About James Stodola
I was born and raised in Michigan for the most part. There was a year and a half that I resided in Florida. Photography has been a passion of mine since about the time I was about 16 years old. I would use borrowed cameras from mom and dad and when I was finally on my own and in the military, I was able to purchase a Minolta X700 and a couple of lenses and that got me started on the road to capturing life as I see it. I took a few classes here and there and mostly learned on my own simply by taking as many photos as I could. There were time when life has its pressing moments and my hobby has had to be on the back burner from time to time, but it never faded. I purchased my first DSLR about three or four years ago and that spurred me on even more. This was a moment that took my hobby to the forefront and kept it there. Last year I made my hobby a business, part-time, but a business in ever sense. My Nikon D90 and me are never apart, where I go she goes. I am hoping to build my skills and business sales so that I will have a nice supplement when I retire. My goal in my art is to provide glimpses of the world around us for those who do not or can not slow down enough to enjoy them.
